Why You Compare Yourself to Everyone and Never Come Out Ahead
Beat one comparison and the mind just finds someone further ahead. The scoreboard is the problem, not your spot on it.
You do the math without meaning to: their job, their body, their relationship, weighed against yours, and somehow you always come out short.
That's not really about them. Comparison isn't measuring the other person, it's measuring you against a standard you've already decided you're failing.
It also never actually resolves. Beat one comparison and the mind just finds the next person further ahead to measure against.
What helps isn't finding someone to feel better than. It's noticing that the scoreboard itself is the problem, not your position on it.
